We want returns to be clear and fair. This policy explains the main routes available for online purchases and does not replace rights granted by South African law.
Nothing in this policy limits any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), or another applicable South African law.
Where section 44 of ECTA applies, a natural-person consumer may cancel an online purchase of goods without giving a reason within seven days after receiving them. The consumer may be charged only the direct cost of returning the goods, and an applicable refund must be made within 30 days of cancellation.
The ECTA cooling-off right has statutory exclusions. Among other exclusions, it generally does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications, clearly personalised goods, goods that by their nature cannot be returned, auctions and certain other transactions listed in section 42 of ECTA.
The CPA gives qualifying consumers an implied warranty of quality. If goods fail to meet the statutory standards within six months after delivery, you may return them at our risk and expense and may direct us to repair, replace or refund them, subject to the CPA. The CPA also provides further protection after a repair. These rights are not limited by a manufacturer warranty.
If we supplied the wrong goods, the goods do not match an agreed description, or they arrive damaged, contact us promptly. Reporting visible damage or shortages within 24 hours helps us preserve courier evidence, but a late report does not automatically remove a statutory right.
The CPA may also permit a return within ten business days in circumstances including where you did not have an opportunity to examine goods before delivery, or where goods supplied for a particular purpose that you specifically communicated are unsuitable for that purpose. The statutory conditions and allocation of return costs will apply.
If no statutory return right applies, we may consider a return request made within seven days of delivery. Approval is discretionary and normally requires the product to be unused, unassembled, complete, undamaged and in its original packaging. Reasonable inspection that is permitted by law will not by itself disqualify a statutory return. Approved non-statutory returns may be subject to collection costs and a reasonable handling or restocking charge disclosed before collection.
Customised, personalised and made-to-order goods cannot normally be returned merely because you changed your mind, and may fall outside the ECTA cooling-off right. A clearance label also does not remove statutory rights. Defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or misdescribed goods remain covered to the extent required by law.
We may inspect returned goods to confirm their identity, condition and the appropriate remedy. An inspection will not be used to delay or defeat a valid statutory claim.
Approved refunds are made to the original payment method where reasonably possible. ECTA refunds will be completed within the statutory period. Other refunds will be processed promptly after approval and any required inspection; banks and payment providers may need additional time to reflect the amount.
Original delivery charges and return costs are refunded where the law requires, including qualifying defective or incorrectly supplied goods. For an ECTA change-of-mind cancellation, the consumer bears the direct return cost. Exchanges depend on stock availability; if a suitable replacement is unavailable, another lawful remedy will be offered.
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. Standard stocked goods can usually be cancelled before dispatch. For goods already dispatched, or for manufacturing, customisation or procurement already authorised, the applicable statutory rights and any reasonable, disclosed cancellation charge permitted by law will determine the outcome.
